Apple just couldn’t resist breaking the Palm Pre’s ability to synchronize directly with the new iTunes 9.  I wrote in late July about Apple’s obsession with breaking iTunes on the Palm Pre and things are not likely to change.

Palm currently has a disclaimer on their website relating to the Pre’s iTunes syncing feature that states:

Compatible with iTunes v8.2.  Compatibility with future versions not guaranteed.

Sascha Segan of PCMag.com says:

For now, if you want reliable iTunes syncing with your Palm Pre, consider the free alternative iTunes Agent.

The last time Apple did this, Palm issued a software update that re-enabled the sync feature within a week.  The question is whether Palm will continue playing this game with Apple or find an alternative solution.
